Woohoo, the countdown is on till October half-term and we literally cannot wait! It’s time to dig out those wellies and have a stomping good time kicking your way through leaf strewn forests, feasting on warm and hearty Cornish goodness and getting all scary, ghoulish and frightful in Halloween madness.

Roald Dahl’s Halloweden
21 – 29 October
nr St Austell
The Eden Project is at it again, just when we thought they couldn’t get any better they pull another fantastic activity line-up out of the bag. Visit the world-famous biomes this half-term and take on Roald Dahl’s most terrible villains. There’s all the favourites from Fantastic Mr Fox and Matilda to The Twits and BFG. Mrs Trunchbull we’re coming to get you!
And if that wasn’t enough, the ice rink will also be open and the Little Monsters’ Ball Halloween disco will be serving up fang-tastic fun on Saturday 28 October with gruesome fire dancing, acrobatics and spooky tunes.
Heligan Halloween
21 – 29 October
nr Pentewan
For a true taste of autumn look no further than the Lost Gardens of Heligan. With over 200 acres to explore there are heaps of welly walks and hours of fun to be had. Say hello to the farm yard animals, see how pumpkins grow in the productive garden and brave the jungle rope bridge. And when you’re done exploring, swing into action on the East Lawn play area or join the specially created Halloween activities with creepy crafts and enchanting tales.
Camel Creek Scare Zone

Watch out if you’re heading to Camel Creek Adventure Park this half-term, it’s being treated to a super scary makeover complete with Witch’s Grotto, Demon Drop Dare Walk and Grim Reaper Ghost Train. There will also be snake and spider encounters and a spooktacular Bug Ball. Brrr, we’re getting the heebie jeebies just thinking about it!
Bodmin Jail Halloween party

Bodmin
Famous for its paranormal going’s-on and unexplained bumps in the night, Bodmin Jail is a freakily awesome place to spend Halloween. Test the nerve of your little ghosts and ghouls at the devilishly good children’s Halloween party. It includes a horrible histories tour of the jail and a visit to the spine-chilling cinema room - guaranteed to send the scare factor into overdrive. Eeek!
Brand-new Cornucopia
St Austell
Supped-up family fun comes in all shapes and sizes at Cornwall’s newest visitor attraction, Cornucopia. Stop by this half-term and let the kids loose on the family adventure playground, complete with everything from trampolines and dodgems to a skate rink and soft play, then fill hungry tums in the food hall where the grand Cornish pasty quite rightly takes pride of place. There’s also a Pasty Heritage Centre and shed loads of tastings!
Magic in Motion at the National Maritime Museum
21 – 29 October
Falmouth
For hand’s-on family fun the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth is always a winner. Head there during half-term for spellbinding magic in motion and have a go at making your own animation reel, shadow puppet show and kaleidoscope. Little ones will also love scrambling over lifeboats, hopping on a jet ski and discovering the new play zone – it’s one of Britain’s most family-friendly museums. Climb aboard…
Rogue Theatre’s The Dead of the Night Dance

For something seriously special and ultra-unique we can’t recommend the Rogue Theatre’s magical woodland experience enough. The bewitching Tehidy Wood near Portreath gets transformed into an enchanting hideaway where visitors elope on a journey through live music, storytelling, dance and a twist of spectacle. The specially curated Dead of the Night Dance performance is a wicked and wonderful Halloween celebration with bumps, scares and spooky moments. Designed for brave adventurers of all ages!
Halloween baking at Rick Stein’s Cookery School
26 October
Padstow
Things are getting spooky at Rick Stein’s Cookery School with a Halloween cookery course. Mini bakers will whip up lots of tempting treats and leave armed with witches’ hats and pumpkin cupcakes to keep eerie visitors at bay. Move over GBBO, there’s a new baking cohort in town and they’re not afraid of no ghosts! Suitable for 8 – 12 years.
Haunted Pendennis Castle
23 – 27 October
Falmouth
Join fearsome pirate leader Captain Bones on a bone-chilling quest to find the buccaneers ill-gotten gains at Pendennis Castle in Falmouth. Discover terrifying tales of the castle’s colourful past and look out for ghostly guests who linger in the shadows.
