Cornwall is going Halloween crazy with spooktacular events and frightfully fantastic days out for little ghosts and ghouls.
Broom sticks at the ready, this way to the best Halloween happenings…
The Seahorse - Halloween Party
31st October and 1st November
Join us at The Seahorse for not one but two Halloween parties that will have everyone from mini monsters to grown-up ghouls screaming with delight. The hair-raising antics kick off at 7pm and run till dead in the night with fancy dress competitions, trick or treat bingo and lots of thrilling prizes to be won. Free entry both nights!
Eden Project - Halloweden
19th October – 3rd November
A deep dark wood awaits at the Eden Project, Cornwall’s superstar attraction, this half-term. Pull on your brave cape and explore the forbidden forest filled with mythical monsters and outlandish beasts. Come up close with the extremely rare Mongolian Death Worm and the loveable Giant Beast in the petting zoo, make marvellous potions, join a pumpkin carving master class and meet magnificent owls. There’s also a chilling ice rink and to top it all off, a Little Monsters’ Ball. Phew, jam-packed doesn’t even cut it!
Pirates Quest – Curse and Crossbones
19th October – 1st November
Man the decks, weigh anchor and join Calico Jack’s crew of live pirate performers on a creepy voyage through Pirate’s Quest in Newquay. Tales of piracy and smuggling will whip up the fright factor while the chance to play a leading role in the interactive story and vote which pirate hero to crown as leader will make the terror potential sky rocket. Only for the fearless!
Bodmin Jail – Halloween Family Fun Day
27th October
Scary at the best of times, the scream-o-meter goes off the scale at Bodmin Jail at Halloween. If the dark, dank cells and creepy tales of murder, ghosts and torture wasn’t enough there’s after-dark tours, scary cinema nights and spooky dinners. Tiny thrill seekers will love the Halloween Family Fun Day, complete with face painting, bat hunting and animal encounters.
Zombie Walk
31st October
Watch out St Austell, a zombie mob is on the loose! Whether you get caught up in the costume spectacular or watch from the side-lines, the mass of freaky zombies in this Halloween treat is sure to send shivers down your spine.
The Lost Gardens of Heligan – The Good, the Bad and the Bugly
19th – 27th October
Pull on your wellies and keep your eyes peeled as you adventure through Heligan Woods along the Creepy Creatures Trail. There’s owls to meet, creepy crawlies galore and a chance to learn about the animals that live in our garden at night. Plus, dare to enter the Steward’s House for Halloween games and hair-raising crafts!
Camel Creek – Halloweek
19th – 31st October
Eek! A spell has been cast over Camel Creek Adventure Park and the Witches of the Wilderness have given the rides and slides a gruesome makeover. From the Witch’s Grotto, to the House of Horror and a spooky ghost train, the scares are chilling and the terror is real. Only visit if you dare!
Pendennis Castle – Spooky Castle with Creepy Critters
26th October – 3rd November
A feast of frightening fun awaits at Pendennis Castle this half term. Gather your little monsters for a ghoulishly good day-out, with wicked crafts and a spooktacular Halloween quest around the castle. Little horrors can also get up-close to a host of real life 'beasts'! Meet some amazing animals – including snakes, spiders and more – and learn all about these creepy crawly creatures.
Lanhydrock NT – Spooky Halloween Trail
19th October – 3rd November
Explore the magnificent estate and gardens then mark the occasion by posing as naughty witches, spooky ghosts and gruesome werewolves in your very own petrifying Halloween portrait, complete with props and picture frame.
National Maritime Museum – Silhouettes and Shadows
21st – 25th October
Discover what’s hiding in the shadows at the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth this half-term. There’s incredible aerial dance storytelling, spooky craft making and a Museum trail with prizes to be won – will you get a trick or will you get a treat?
